U-VALUE AND WHAT IT MEANS TO YOUR PROJECT
The following information summarised from Building Regulations Documents L1A (New Dwellings) 2010 & L1B (Existing Dwellings) 2010.
- Is it a replacement fitted into an existing frame? – Exempt from regulations
- Is it a replacement in an existing house with a new frame? – Maximum U-Value of 1.8 W/m2K (**see notes below)
- Is it an extension to an existing building? – Maximum U-Value of 1.8 W/m2K
- Is it a new build? – Maximum allowable 2.0 W/m2K (unless stated by your architect)
